Physical and chemical properties:

1) Appearance: white crystal powder.

2) Melting point: 244~245°C

3) Solubility: easy to soluble in acetone, methanol, ethanol, soluble in ethanediol, slightly soluble in benzene and chloroform, hardly soluble in water.

Toxicity: Acute oral(rat) LD 502194mg/kg. Toosendanin is accumulated, so we should not continuously use it.

Mode of action:

Once pests touch toosendanin and eat, it can block nervous central conduction, damage midgut tissue, detoxification enzyme system and respiratory metabolism, influence digestive absorption, lose taste sense, and not eat any more, finally die of hunger.
